The Dominican Hotel
The Dominican Hotel is a destination for elegance in the centre of Brussels. Located behind the theatre La Monnaie, off the Grand Place, our Brussels design hotel offers stylish non-smoking rooms, a private courtyard and bustling Grand Lounge that combine to ensure indulgent hospitality. The award winning architects of FG Stijl have created an eclectic mix of design in both the interior and exterior - resulting in an array of new styles and experiences.
The rich history of The Dominican's location was a source of inspiration in the exclusive design and dramatic yet intimate architecture of our hotel. The hotel is situated on the site of a 15th century Dominican Abbey, a history echoed in the soaring high ceilings, original stone floors, sweeping archways and tranquil cloisters of our stylish hotel.
The site was also home to the well-known French painter Jacques-Louis David. After his death in Brussels in 1825, the house he lived in was named after him. David completed his last great masterpiece ‘Mars disarmed by Venus and the Three Graces’ in this house. The original façade of Jaques-Louis David’s home has remained intact and was integrated into the design of The Dominican.
